ClassicJazz2Funk:

Tomorrow's Warriors Female Frontline

Exciting nine-piece Tomorrow’s Warriors Female Frontline developed out of the award-winning Tomorrow’s Warriors Emerging Artist Development Programme, based at the South Bank.

This ensemble is one of Tomorrow’s Warriors flagship performance groups, and embodies the Warrior spirit in more than just serious musical talent.

Playing a selection of upbeat jazz standards, funk and contemporary versions of some well-known classics, the Female Frontline are led by saxophonist Aleksandra Topczewska under the tutelage of Gary Crosby OBE.

Over almost three decades, Tomorrow’s Warriors has proved a crucial development platform for many of the artists now tearing up the international jazz scene: Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia, Cassie Kinoshi and Nérija, Femi Koleoso and Ezra Collective, Binker Golding, Shabaka Hutchings and Sons Of Kemet, Cherise Adams-Burnett, Eska, Denys Baptiste, Soweto Kinch, Zara McFarlane and many more.

A leading talent development agency, creative producer, music educator and consultancy specialising in jazz, Tomorrow's Warriors was founded in 1991, to help aspiring young artists discover their magic, nurture nascent talent, achieve creative ambitions, and build engaged, diverse audiences.

TW champions diversity, inclusion and equality. However, while inclusive, its pioneering Young Artist Development Programme primarily supports the early careers of young musicians, with a focus on Black and female musicians, and those whose financial or other circumstances might lock them out of opportunities to pursue a career in the music industry.
