Georgia Mancio: Salud! Tom Jobim

Multi award-winning/nominated vocalist, lyricist and producer, Georgia Mancio, is one of Europe’s most respected, adventurous and multi-faceted new artists. Her multilingual music references classic jazz and Latin alongside her own astonishing writing, always stamped with an unfailing emotional integrity.

Salud! Tom Jobim is Georgia’s tribute to the remarkable Brazilian composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and Bossa Nova maestro Antonio Carlos 'Tom' Jobim.

Alongside virtuoso reeds player Mark Crooks and a top-flight band, Salud! Tom Jobim recreates hits such as Desafinado, Chega de Saudade, Corcovado and, most famously, The Girl from Ipanema, as well as lesser known gems with collaborators Elis Regina, Stan Getz, Frank Sinatra, João and Astrud Gilberto.

Jobim’s beautiful, bitter-sweet melodies evoke the sunshine and easy rhythm of life by the ocean in Brazil, combined with a jazz musician’s sense of harmony, the eloquence of George Gershwin and Irving Berlin, and the sweep of Debussy, Chopin and Ravel. They remain unique and timeless.

Georgia’s acclaimed Four Plus Three ensemble (with special guest, classical guitarist John Williams) won Best Album in the 2020 Parliamentary Jazz Awards. She followed this up by winning Best Vocalist category in the 2021 PJA.

Georgia Mancio (Vocals), Mark Crooks (Sax/Clarinet), John Pearce (Piano), Colin Oxley (Guitar), Dave Chamberlain (Double Bass), Dave Ohm (Drums).

"Mancio’s voice is quite unique; calm and understated, the essence of cool, yet possessed of an inner warmth which draws an audience in by its pure musicality."
